Cubit Architects in Cape Town provides architectural services for private residential developments and have experience in delivering services for both smaller scale commercial and industrial projects.
Richard qualified at University of Pretoria, and has accumulated more than 20 years’ worth of experience in in the construction industry over the periods from 1976 to 1990, and again from 2018 to the present.

Design & Local Authority approvals
Cubit Architects provide architectual services for a rang of building projects. Our Design and Approval services focus on defining the Project Brief, it includes the Concept Design, Design Development, and Documentation for Local Authority approval.

Contract Administration
Cubit Architects also offer contract administration that includes preparing Construction and Tender procurement documentation, Administering the construction process as Principal Agent on behalf of the client, Facilitating the completion and handover of the completed project works.
The Work Spaces
Inception
Establish the client brief including requirements, budget, preferences, objectives, priorities, constraints, aspirations, needs, options and the need to consult with other specialists.

Concept Design
Prepare and finalise the project concept in accordance with the brief, including the scope, scale, character, form, function and preliminary programme and viability of the project.

Design Development
Develop the approved concept to finalise the design, outline specifications, cost plan, financial viability and program for the execution of the project.

Documentation
Preparation and submission of documentation required for the approval of local and other applicable authorities. Prepare the construction and procurement documentation. Confirm and implement the procurement strategies.

Construction
Administer and monitor the construction contract on behalf of the client and carry out the duties and obligations of the principal agent.

Close-Out
Prepare the necessary documents required to facilitate completion, handover and operation of the project.
